I cannot stress enough the importance of being prepared in school! In the past (in Middle School), you were probably given many chances, and extra lenience when it came to keeping agendas, coming to class with the materials needed, and with the proper supplies. In Study Lab, Algebra and in all classes, as Freshmen, you need to have
~PROPER MATERIALS needed for the class you are in - If it's a History class, bring your History homework. If it's English, bring the book that the class is reading and your class notes.
~PROPER SUPPLIES!!! If it's Algebra - you NEED to bring a pencil - no exceptions! Also, I give students the opportunity to use a calculator. Take advantage of this opportunity and use it. I do not have extras on hand to give to students. It is up to you to come prepared.
~AGENDAS! You were given agendas for a reason. Agendas keep you organized, help you keep track of your homework, assignments, and upcoming tests and quizzes. Assignments written on a separate piece of paper is not an appropriate substitute. Come to every class with your agenda.
~A WORKING ATTITUDE - When you arrive, it is not social hour. Use this time in between periods to gather what you need and have everything ready to go by the time the bell rings.
