REMINDER: Report cards come out FRIDAY!
*****Turkey Basket Items Due By Monday November 19*****
BASIC ENGLISH: This week we will spend more time working on writing our final drafts of the memoir you started last week. I was going to grade them and put them on last term's report card, but did not feel that they were complete and ready to be graded (hence the extra time). We are starting Week 5 in our Language Practice packets. We will be spending about 15 minutes each class this week reading Tuesdays With Morrie. You may be asked to finish some of the chapters at home. I would like to finish the book this week so we can watch the movie next week.
BASIC ALGEBRA: This week, we will be reviewing how to do simple equations with addition and subtraction. I have been very specific on how I want these problems set up and we will spend time each day this week reviewing and practicing this process. The class will be split into two groups (4 students each). Half will work on equations with Mrs. Francis, and the other half will work on a computer game with Mrs. Cheetham. The groups will rotate after about 17 minutes so each student gets the opportunity to try both areas. There will be NO HOMEWORK this week, but the work in class will count as 3 class work grades! There will be a small quiz on Friday - I expect everyone will earn a 100%.
STUDY SKILLS: Please remember your turkey basket items this week and see me if you forgot what you volunteered to bring. A HUGE thanks for your contributions. See Mrs. Francis or Mrs. Cheetham if you need help organizing your binders and/or backpack (I saw a lot of messy bags last week!).
