BASIC ENGLISH:
This week, we will be learning about quote integration. There was a homework sheet on Tuesday - we worked on most of it in class and the students were to do the rest for homework. I am not just looking for simple answers to the discussion questions. I want you to look in the book to find a quote in order to support your answer. We went over this for three days in class. Also, on Wednesday and Thursday, we will be working on new vocabulary words. On Thursday, students will be making flash cards again to assist them with studying. On FRIDAY 10/19, we will have a QUIZ - there will be some reading check questions and some vocabulary matching.

BASIC ALGEBRA:
This week, we will be starting chapter 3. We will be learning about Rational Numbers. Much of this will be review, but I encourage you to stay engaged and work hard in class. Also, use of a calculator is allowed, so definitely use one when you need it. Comparing rational numbers cannot be done by guessing! Remember the number line practice we did in class? The further to the left on the number line (or the more negative), the smaller the number actually is.
Homework:
Monday - Study Guide 3-1
Tuesday - Practice 3-1 (odds)
Wednesday - Study Guide 3-2
Thursday - Either Study Guide 3-3 OR Practice 3-2 (depending on how far we get on Thursday)
Friday we will be having a QUIZ on the first two sections of chapter 3 - Rational Numbers and adding & subtracting rational numbers.
Study Skills:
You will be working on your History T-Shirt project as well as your Test Study Guide! Don't let this time get away from you! Mrs. Cheetham and I are both here to help you get an awesome grade on your test!
